Court sacks Anambra Central Senator a day to rerun election

The judgment that pronounced Obiora Okonkwo winner of the Anambra Central Senatorial District election in March 2015 has been set aside by  Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

Justice John Tsoho who delivered the judgment on Friday, January 12, sets aside the order of December 13, 2017, on the grounds that the facts were presented in such a manner to mislead the court on the two (2) earlier decisions of the Abuja Court of Appeal on the matter.

var td_screen_width = document.body.clientWidth; if ( td_screen_width >= 1024 ) { /* large monitors */ document.write(”); } if ( td_screen_width >= 768 && td_screen_width < 1024 ) { /* portrait tablets */ document.write(''); } if ( td_screen_width < 768 ) { /* Phones */ document.write(''); }

The judgment of the Abuja Federal High Court came a day to the re-run election in Anambra Central Senatorial District.

var td_screen_width = document.body.clientWidth; if ( td_screen_width >= 1024 ) { /* large monitors */ document.write(”); } if ( td_screen_width >= 768 && td_screen_width < 1024 ) { /* portrait tablets */ document.write(''); } if ( td_screen_width < 768 ) { /* Phones */ document.write(''); }
